[Case Study] Low-Pressure Wastewater Treatment (Energy-Saving Screw Blower Technology)

Introduction to the background of why the overseas water company "ZS" was selected for numerous awards.

We would like to introduce a case where Northumbrian Water, which has received various awards overseas, implemented Atlas Copco's energy-efficient screw blower. The company originally used four lobe-type blowers for aeration, but due to reliability issues with one unit, they considered next-generation high-efficiency screw blowers that can reduce energy consumption by up to 30% compared to lobe-type blowers. 【Products Introduced】 ■ Oil-free screw blower ZS ■ Installed motor output: 18.5–160 kW (25–200 hp) ■ Operating pressure: 0.3–1 bar (e) (4–14.5 psig) ■ Capacity (FAD): 75–1292 L/s (271–4631 m³/h) After the introduction of the "ZS," a 20% improvement rate was confirmed. All blowers will be switched to our equipment. We also have the latest model "ZS 4 VSD+" with inverter functionality and the turbo blower "ZB series." Please take a look at our catalog. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.

Data on Energy Saving from Changing Aeration Blowers in ActiContact

A detailed explanation of energy-saving measures regarding the change of aeration blowers in activated sludge contact systems!

This document introduces the equipment overview and improvement efforts at the Akuchicontact (contact oxidation biological tank) of the Chuetsu Pulp & Paper Co., Ltd. Kawauchi Plant. By changing from a roots blower to an inverter-driven oil-free screw blower, we were able to reduce noise levels while simultaneously achieving energy savings. The document clearly presents the background leading to the equipment installation, a comparison of equipment specifications, and actual energy savings using diagrams and tables. [Contents] ■ Overview of the Akuchicontact at the Kawauchi Plant ■ Background leading to equipment installation ■ Overview of the INV screw blower ■ Operating conditions and issues ■ Confirmation of effects from blower replacement *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
